MSC Software, now part of Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division, announced they have signed an agreement to acquire VIRES Simulationstechnologie GmbH. VIRES is recognized as a leading provider of a software tool-chain supporting the development, testing and validation of automated driving, driver assistance, and active safety systems.
The thermal design of a tool optimally starts during the design phase of the component in order to understand the influence of the cooling channels on the solidification and the final shape of the component. With SIGMASOFT® it is possible to try and compare different concepts. Thus, the use of more expensive cooling concepts, e.g. contour close cooling, can be evaluated before the tool is built.
Plastics are an essential part of our daily life. For specific applications, strength, toughness, temperature resistance or chemical resistance can be customized. The non-destructive testing using terahertz technology can make an important contribution to ensuring the material properties.
As part of the company's future vision and growth strategy, HBM is pleased to announce the creation of a new strategic segment to their business: HBM Prenscia. HBM Prenscia joins nCode and ReliaSoft software products, training and consulting to offer solutions in the disciplines of durability, data analysis and reliability.
The automotive CAECompanion 2017/2018 provides information on our conferences and seminars in CAE and related areas. 49 pages of CAE knowledge provide invaluable information about the theory and application of numerical simulation in the CAE-based automotive development process.
IPG Automotive, the Karlsruhe-based manufacturer of software and hardware solutions for virtual test driving, organizes the simulation competition SimulOscar for the fourth time. The company looks for student projects focusing on the development and testing of vehicles by means of virtual development tools.
EDEM®, the market leader in Discrete Element Method (DEM) technology, is changing the face of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) with a revolutionary new software that will make bulk material simulation accessible to all engineers using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Multi-body Dynamics (MBD) software, in the design of heavy equipment.
On April 5 - 6 the automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2017 has been held in Hanau, Germany. In 7 sessions speakers from industry, research and software development reported on their efforts to solve the current challenges of automotive CAE.
To this end, the topology optimization method has to be extended for dynamic analysis. This extension has been developed in PERMAS to enable topology optimization to be used simultaneously for static and modal frequency response analysis. The method has been presented at the automotive CAE Grand Challenge 2017 held in Hanau, Germany.
In 2017, carhs.training offers exciting, new seminars on the topics of active vehicle safety, design for durability and prototype reduced development processes. Engineers from the relevant areas of vehicle development will benefit from participating in the seminars.
