The LightweightCampus will address the complete value chain for hybrid components, from conception to production of reinforcing textiles and hybrid production processes to recycling. The goal is to create the basis for the production of particularly light and thus energy and resource-efficient vehicle bodies and drive systems in high unit numbers. Researchers are developing so-called hybrid construction. Here, materials with different properties, such as metal, plastic and textile, are combined into lightweight components. They offer the same high security and performance as conventional parts. To make this possible, experts from universities, research facilities and industry are working together in the research factory.
