Polyurethane foams or short PU foams play a major role in our everyday lives - even if we are not aware of it. But we sit and lie on it every day: for example, car seats and mattresses are made of soft PU foams. On the other hand, hard PU foams are used, among other things, for insulating materials in buildings. To predict and characterize the properties of foams is very complex - experimental investigations often lead to incorrect parameters.
