Tecosim sees great potential in the material. In a preliminary study, the development partner and specialist for computer-aided engineering (CAE) was able to explore the potential applications of Plexiglas for the first time with regard to different crash scenarios. The material promises a weight reduction of up to 50 percent in direct comparison with conventional vehicle windows and this with significantly improved failure strain and acoustic properties.
