TECOSIM started with crash simulations 25 years ago

![]() | In the late 1980ies of the 20th century crash simulations made it possible for the first time to develop and evaluate measures for passive safety, even without complex and expensive physical crash tests. Security has no longer been reserved for the upper class, a "democratization" developed into the volume segment. It was also the hour of the service providers: In 1992, Ulrich Rusche founded the company TECOSIM - with three computers and a small team of simulation engineers - in his living room in Rüsselsheim. Just one year later TECOSIM calculates the front-crash behavior of a new Fiesta generation for Ford. A first milestone for the integration of CAE into the development departments of the major automotive manufacturers, as the results of the calculations were confirmed in real crash tests.
