Christian Radt

EDAG Engineering GmbH

Christian Radt began his career in the automotive industry at Opel Automobile GmbH after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University and starting his career in the paper industry . He worked there for 18 years at the international development center in Rüsselsheim. With different focuses ranging from drive technology and supplier qualification for selected validation tests to GM's specification system, Mr. Radt built up a broad knowledge of complete vehicle technology. Since mid-2019, he has been utilizing his self-motivation and willingness to learn at EDAG Engineering GmbH in Fulda in the field of homologation. In the special role of an independent engineering service provider, Mr. Radt supervises very different international vehicle projects. Markets, vehicle class, number of units and role distribution vary. Customers range from traditional OEMs to new OEMs. From the assessment of concept studies for approvability to internal and external consulting for in-house complete vehicle projects. In contrast to traditional OEMs, it is often a matter of finding a creative solution for special cases or demonstrating which changes to the product could lead to approvability. This is particularly true for vehicle modifications and technological innovations. It is important to Mr. Radt to spread awareness of the legal conformity of motor vehicles within his company, as this is the only way to implement legal requirements into products in a responsible and timely manner. The basic seminar and other modules, which combine the theory and practice of homologation from an independent point of view, were developed from these tasks.
