Bentley Systems Inc., the infrastructure engineering software company, announced it has acquired Watertown (MA, USA) based ADINA R & D Inc., a leading developer of finite element analysis software. ADINA was founded in 1986 by Dr. Klaus-Jürgen Bathe, professor of mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a world-renowned leader in the field of finite element analysis and its applications.
The Peugeot 9×8 will be racing in the World Endurance Championship (FIAWEC), an international motorsport competition with several races including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Capgemini has signed a multi-year partnership with Peugeot Sport to provide the PEUGEOT 9X8 FIA WEC team advanced digital tools. Peugeot Sport is poised to make its return to topflight endurance racing this summer. It will capitalize on Capgemini s data and AI applications expertise to take the performance of its revolutionary hybrid Hypercar forward, both in the simulator and on the racetrack.
Siemens Digital Industries Software announced that defending America s Cup winners, Emirates Team New Zealand, has selected Siemens Xcelerator software portfolio for the design and development of its next racing yacht. Pasqal, a global leader in neutral atom-based quantum computing, has announced a multi-year research collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software to advance the field of quantum computational multi-physics simulation. The project builds on Pasqal s existing research in the field including its methods for solving nonlinear differential equations. For years, it was uncertain whether quantum computers were able to outperform classical computers in this field, Pasqal s recent progress in this field, makes these methods promising candidates for near-term quantum advantage.
Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are used to power a variety of devices, from toys and drones to cellphones and laptops to medical equipment and electric cars. To efficiently power such devices, the temperature distribution inside operating Li-ion batteries needs to be controlled, as deviation from optimal operating temperatures can cause a loss, or failure, in their performance. One way to analyze the temperature distribution in Li-ion batteries is with multiphysics simulation.
Fraunhofer IGD from Rostock presents Machine@Hand 2.0, a flexible and powerful virtual training environment. Virtual reality (VR) allows complex assembly processes and the machining of new component variants in the automotive industry to be communicated in a comprehensible way. VR training scenarios support a contemporary qualification of employees and show their added value especially in the changeover to electromobility.
Bosch in North America and The Bosch Community Fund has been named winner of the 10th annual SAE Foundation Gordon Millar Award. The award, funded by AVL, is given in special recognition of an individual or organization that best demonstrates continuous philanthropic support of the SAE Foundation Mission to encourage and increase student participation and achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
In order to support product developers at an early stage in the development of lifecycle-oriented vehicle components, the Fraunhofer IAO and the cooperating IAT of the University of Stuttgart, together with partners in the CYCLOMETRIC project, want to design a corresponding tool.
