New Projects Granted for Increased Insights in Human Modeling

article imageResearchers at SAFER's partner institutions have recently been awarded grants from Vinnova/FFI for two studies on human modeling, which can be used in the development of vehicle safety systems. The SAFER Human Body Model (HBM) provides a competence platform for partners and serves as a natural contact point for external cooperation. This virtual human substitute can predict injury outcomes in any impact situation and direction of loading.

Software MESHFREE Receives Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize 2024

article imageWhether in the automotive sector or in production: simulations and digital twins are indispensable for many companies. Because highly dynamic processes often cannot be mapped satisfactorily with conventional software, researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM have developed the MESHFREE tool, a solution that works without a rigid computational grid and is able to simulate complex processes with great time savings and thus cost-effectively. They have been awarded the Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize 2024 for their work.
