Virtual Testing in Vehicle Safety Regulations and NCAP
Static and Dynamic Analysis of Long-Fibre-Reinforced Plastics Virtual Testing #4: Applications, Methods and Processes; February 6, 2025; OnlineVirtual testing in the context of type approvals has been possible for some time in vehicle safety for individual regulations. The basic processes that guarantee a traceable data flow and at the same time ensure the requirements for the protection of confidential data, thus enabling acceptance of the simulation results for certification, homologation or NCAP assessment are discussed. The validation of models and simulation tools for virtual assessments will also be discussed. Virtual test methods are already available for ATDs and have proven their worth. Other approaches must be pursued for virtual assessments with human models. >>Magna ECS Simulation Conference 2025; May 14 - 15, 2025; Waidhofen, AustriaAs disciplines in engineering are connected closer than ever and applications require software tools that can combine the strengths of different fields, Magna gladly invites you to this conference bundling thermal and structural topics and hopes you will find touch points not only within the large fields but even in between. >>NAFEMS World Congress 2025; 19 - 22 May 2025; Salzburg, AustriaBe part of the largest independent international conference dedicated exclusively to engineering simulation. Seminar: Virtual Testing for Vehicle Safety Assessment in Consumer Protection Tests and RegulationsVehicle type approval based on virtual test procedures has been possible for some time for a limited number of specific regulations in automotive safety. However, there have been very few real applications so far. Currently the increasing demands of consumer protection organizations are leading to a noticeable acceleration in the development and acceptance of procedures for virtual testing as an alternative or supplement to physical testing. There are also corresponding efforts by legislators to implement virtual test procedures in new regulations for the assessment of vehicle safety. The trainer Andre Eggers has been a research associate at the German Federal Highway Research Institute since 2006 and works in the fields of biomechanics, evaluation of dummies, human models and virtual testing. read more ... NASCAR Reduces Injury Risk through Simulations with Human Body ModelsNASCAR drivers are some of the best in the world. But when you driving on the edge of traction at 200 miles per hour, crashes are bound to happen. Thanks to virtual modeling in a simulation environment, the risk of serious driver injuries remains low.

Calculations in this area are mainly performed using the shell formulation, and material models are refined for this type of discretization. By reducing the number of dimensions, material models for stamping gain advanced abilities to describe the plastic flow of metal.
