ZF has a strong record of developing systems for commercial vehicles that can make driving safer and reduce the risk of accidents. The 17th edition of the Crash Test awards distinguished the models with the best price-safety relationship and the one with the highest level of protection of all, among the models launched in 2023. The awarding of the Safest Cars 2023 was held for the first time at CESVI ARGENTINA, the only Road Safety and Experimentation Center in the country where new vehicles launched in the local market are evaluated and analyzed.
OndoSense is expanding its sensor portfolio: The expert for high-precision, high-performance radar technology has developed a compact radar sensor for collision avoidance, vehicle detection & object positioning. With its wide detection range, the OndoSense reach WA (Wide Angle) is particularly suited for detecting obstacles such as vehicles, people or objects as well as for positioning robots and machines.
CTS has successfully carried out the first tests in accordance with the requirements of the UN ECE R100 9C regulation for REESS. The vibration tests were carried out in the longitudinal and transverse directions for classes M3 and N3 under the supervision of TÜV Thüringen. Corresponding barrier vehicles are available at CTS for all other classes.

Valeo and Seeing Machines announced a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening their position in the driver and occupant monitoring systems (OMS) market. As part of this agreement, Valeo is transferring its driver monitoring perception software activity to Seeing Machines. This activity, stemming from the associated acquisition of Valeo-owned, German start-up Asaphus, will now be managed by Seeing Machines.
Connected Automated Transport (CAT) promises safer, cleaner, more efficient, and reliable logistics. A recent networking event on automated logistics, organised by Connekt and TNO, highlighted the growing demand for collaborative action, on-road testing, and a learning-by-doing approach in logistics operations to advance this field.
More than 50 organisations and individuals from across the road safety community and wider transport industry have written a joint letter to the new Secretary of State for Transport, Louise Haigh MP, urging her to prioritise vehicle safety as the new Government is formed. 
Given the growing increase in the number of two- and three- wheeled vehicles and quadricycles - and therefore their repair and insurance - CESVIMAP has for some time now been investigating these vehicles in the L category, which the European Union regulates under Regulation 168/2013.
Truck safety is a hot topic right now in the automotive industry. Euro NCAP announced in April that their first ever Heavy Truck safety rating tests are here, with the first ratings to be announced in November 2024 and with crash testing beginning in 2030.
Drivers struck and killed 7,318 people in the United States in 2023 - down 5.4% from the year before but 14.1% above the pre-pandemic level in 2019 - according to a new report released by the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA). While this modest year-over-year decrease is welcome news, pedestrian fatalities have surged in recent years and reached a 40-year high in 2022.
