 Euro NCAP reveals Best in Class Cars tested in 2024Euro NCAP has revealed its Best in Class cars - the safest models it tested in 2024. In 2024, five cars from China, Germany, and Japan set the standard for vehicle safety. Best in Class winners included the Skoda Superb and Volkswagen Passat (winning jointly), the MAZDA CX-80, and the ZEEKR X. The most outstanding performance was set by the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which topped the overall safety score of cars tested last year.

Mercedes-Benz has updated its conditionally automated driving system DRIVE PILOT and has now received the approval by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority. With this milestone all is set for the upcoming sales release in early 2025 in Germany. This update makes DRIVE PILOT the fastest certified system for conditionally automated driving (SAE Level 3) in a standard production vehicle.
AB Dynamics has introduced comprehensive automation capabilities that enable OEMs and test houses to significantly reduce the time and complexity of testing the latest ADAS protocols from Euro NCAP and NHTSA. The latest update to AB Dynamics' Track Applications Suite expands its 'Special Groups' library to include comprehensive automation for Euro NCAP's new Heavy Vehicle ADAS test scenarios and NHTSA's FMVSS 127 standard.
The U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 
Nineteen vehicles from 11 brands earn TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the final group of ratings for the year. In November 2024 NHTSA published a long-awaited update to the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). It includes many significant changes and additions for Automated Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) & Pedestrian Safety updates and a roadmap outlining future changes in the next 10 years.
ASEAN NCAP released its latest assessment result on the NETA V model. The model which is the first electric vehicle (EV) brand tested at the MIROS Provisional CRASE Crash Centre (PC3) in Malaysia made a very disappointing outcome with a Zero-Star result, making it the first model to have a zero star rating under the ASEAN NCAP 2021 2025 protocol.
