New Crash Test Metric can help address more Types of Brain Injuries

Picture a boxer taking a hard punch to the face, his head whipping around quickly after his opponent's glove makes contact. Drivers and passengers can experience similar rotational head motion during crashes in some vehicles. And just as with a person who gets punched in the face, that head-whipping movement can cause concussions and other brain injuries that aren't immediately visible.

NHTSA publishes Amendment to 49 CFR Part 572 Subpart O - Hybrid III 5th Female Dummy

article imageThis Final Rule revises the chest jacket and spine box specifications for the Hybrid III 5th Percentile Female Test Dummy (HIII 5F). The jacket revisions resolve discrepancies between the jacket specifications in subpart O and jackets available in the field, and ensure a sufficiently low level of variation between jackets fabricated by different manufacturers.

Sean Duffy sworn in as Secretary of U.S. Department of Transportation

Secretary Duffy was administered the oath of office by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas at the U.S. Supreme Court. Upon arrival at USDOT headquarters, Secretary Duffy's first act was signing a memorandum directing staff to start the process of resetting Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards.

UN Working Party cautious on Driving Features that blur the Lines between Human and Automated Driving

World-first Data Project to reduce Road Crash Deaths
